Oncology & Cancer Treatment Department, CHICAGO, IL
The client was in need of a medical grade chiller for their new linear accelerator that serves the Oncology & Cancer Treatment Department. Adhering to the strict project schedule and having the environment of its mission critical equipment be maintained were a few of the client’s top priorities.
EMCOR Services Team Mechanical’s (TMI) installation of a medical grade air cooled chiller for the client’s Linear Accelerator Machine (LINAC) was completed on-time and with no disruption to the Oncology & Cancer Treatment Department. The chiller’s uninterrupted cooling capacity provides the essential temperature needed for the LINAC to run at optimum performance.
This design/build project included the installation of a Cold Shot 5 Ton Medical Grade Air Cooled Chiller to the client’s LINAC. The scope of work included: structural review of the roof, installation of rails to support the chiller, installation of chilled water piping from the new chiller to linear accelerator, and testing for proper operation. TMI’s knowledge, expertise, and ability to work within tight frames resulted in a seamless installation, allowing the client to deliver life-saving treatments to its patients with no down time.
